NHLRA

The House Ways & Means Committee has voted 19-0 to recommend killing HB 1460, which would eliminate an inequity in the NH Business Profits Tax law that does not enable some restaurants to fully deduct certain business expenses. NHLRA met resistance from the New Hampshire Department of Revenue. The full House will vote on this bill next Wednesday, February 22. If this issue becomes something that more of our members are having trouble with, we may resurface it in a future legislative session.

A subcommittee of the House Ways & Means Committee has voted 3-1 to recommend killing HB 1460, which would eliminate an inequity in the NH Business Profits Tax law that does not enable some restaurants to fully deduct certain business expenses. NHLRA supports this bill, and is disappointed that the Ways & Means Committee did not want to correct this inequity. It is their feeling that they would be opening a “Pandora’s box” if they made this change in law. The full Committee will vote on the bill within the next few weeks.
