State Representative Steve Vaillancourt will try to change the method of calculating the fee paid by wholesale distributors, beverage manufacturers, and brew pubs on beer sold in New Hampshire. He wants to change the tax from $.30 per gallon to 9 percent of the wholesale value. It’s unclear to us what this would do to the price of beer, but Representative Vaillancourt claims it would increase State revenues. He will try to amend HB 535 when the House votes on it this Wednesday, April 20. NHLRA will watch this issue closely.
